The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as the Duanyang Festival, the May Festival, and the Five Days. It is a traditional Chinese festival. Before the Spring and Autumn Period, the Dragon Boat Festival was a festival of plague and epidemic prevention. Later, the patriotic poet Qu Yuan evolved into a festival of Chinese Han people to pay homage to Qu Yuan and to remember the noble feelings of the Chinese nation.
